Register
There are two ways to register.
- Sign-in with Google or Apple. This authenticates you as a user and automatically creates your user account and basic profile. You are taken straight to the onboarding screens.
- Select create account from the home/login page. You will be prompted for an email address and your password.
- The system will register your account and send you an email for confirmation that you own the account.
- You cannot login, until you have confirmed this address.
- As with any email containing links, it is essential to verify its authenticity. Please check that the email actually comes from “noreply@backinpack-x2024.firebaseapp.com” and not just a display name.
Login
You can login into the app in two ways:
- With a registered email address and password
- Authentication from a 3rd party: Google (available) and Apple (to follow aligned to the release of the iOS app – so shortly!).
The app will take a couple of seconds to verify and then connect you to the app.
The same login screen is used whether on mobile or on the web.
Once you have logged in, then subsequently, the app will try to log you in automatically. However, if your session has timed out, then you will be prompted again.
On a mobile device, if you are offline and start the app then you will not see the login screen – you will be using the data cached on the device.
If you move from offline mode to online then the app will automatically try to re-authenticate.
Forgot Password
If you forget your password, then navigate to the page, from the home/login screen.
Enter your email address. If this is registered then you will receive an email with a link to reset your password. If you do not find the email, then check your spam/junk folder. Please verify that the email actually comes from “noreply@backinpack-x2024.firebaseapp.com” and not just a display name.
