There are seven core pieces of information required for each gear item to be able to use the grouping and analysis within the app.

| Gear Category | Whether the gear item is always base, worn or consumed. Base = Carried in pack (sometimes or always) e.g. Backpack or puffy jacket. Worn = ALWAYS Worn e.g. Trail runners Consumed = Carried but reduces weight over the trip e.g. Camping gas | |
| Weight | The numeric value of the weight of the item. The field and the number of decimal places (dp) adapts based on the UoM. gram – 0 dp ounces – 1 dp kilos and pounds – 2 dp | |
| Units of Measure (UoM) | Referring to the weight above. Note you can enter weights in any UoM, so if you buy gear from the US or Europe or elsewhere enter whichever is convenient to the source info. The app will automatically convert this to your preferred display units. | |
| Gear Lifecycle | The current status of the gear item. See locker management for more details |
Extended Attributes
These attributes are only visible if enabled in the Profile > Appearance & Functionality settings.

Warranty Attributes (Coming Soon)
These attributes are only visible if enabled in the Profile > Appearance & Functionality settings. These attributes will relate to the purchase of the gear item and its coverage for defects and manfacturing issues.

INCLUDED IN PACKS
At the bottom of each gear item, it shows in which pack(s) the item is included.
This is useful when you are trying to delete a gear item, but the option is not available due to its pack inclusion.
